Solve a murder. See the city.

Walk & Solve is a detective game you play on foot. Walk between real places, look around each crime scene on your phone and collect clues until you can name the killer.

An iPhone app. The first case is set in Knivsta, between Stockholm and Uppsala. More Swedish towns follow in 2027.

How a case works

A case takes about two hours and covers 3–5 km. Each team needs one charged iPhone and comfortable shoes.

  1. Pick a case

Download the app to your iPhone. Every case takes place in a real Swedish town and is built on local history.

  2. Walk to the scene

Your phone shows where to go. When you arrive, GPS unlocks the location.

  3. Look around

Turn your phone. The scene is recorded in 360 degrees, with the clues right where they were found.

  4. Name the killer

Each scene leads to the next. At the end your team makes its accusation and learns the truth.

Case 1, Knivsta

Death of a Local Historian

Gunnar Hed is found dead at Knivsta station the night before he was due to reveal a Viking silver hoard. The police think he fell.

But his notes are gone, his son is lying about where he was, and a developer has millions to lose. Four people close to him have reasons to keep quiet. Only one of them was at the station at 23:52.

Questions

Do I need to download an app?

Yes, Walk & Solve is an iPhone app. Beta testers get it through Apple’s TestFlight before it is in the App Store.

Does it work on Android?

Not yet. We are starting with iPhone and will build for Android once we know the interest is there. Choose Android in the form and we will let you know.

Is it available in English?

The first cases are written in Swedish. English versions follow, starting with the towns where most people sign up on this page.

How many people can play together?

A team is 2–6 people sharing one phone. Bigger groups split into several teams and compete.

Do we have to play at a set time?

No. Start whenever you like and pause when you need to. Cases are best played in daylight.

Is it scary?

It is exciting but not gory. Crime scenes are shown with chalk outlines and props, not injuries.

What do beta testers need to do?

Play the case with your team and answer a short survey afterwards. It takes about five minutes.
